Earth Day Giveaway!

    Yay! I love contests for good causes! :) I usually try to refresh flower beds through April/May. This year I'm craving the scent and appeal of Morning Glories growing wild over my porch rails. :)

    I recycle and reuse several household items. For earth day I planted lots of lots of flowers.

    Also went and picked up the garbage along the side of the road.

    This week, my family and I will be finishing up the prep work on the big garden, where we'll be planting fruit trees and ornamental trees along with a few blackberry vines. Also, we'll be getting the smaller garden cleaned up for the veggies we'll be planting for the summer. We still plant most of everything by hand, especially the peas.

    The last thing that we'll also be doing, which may not be considered to many as helping the earth, but it is recycling of sorts, is haring a couple of pastures. We will have moved the cows into another pasture and use the tractor and haring spikes to spread the manure around and into the ground. That way, it won't have to have fertilizer put on it.

    We'll be doing some garden planting and recycling of cow manure for fertilizer in some of the pastures.
