I’m excited to share the news that FLASHPOINT, Book Two in the Gifted Series, is in production as an audiobook after nearly ten years of waiting. Phew! These characters have sure paid their dues.

The hunt went fairly quickly, because once I heard the fabulous Janine Granda, I knew I had found my Faith Markham. Janine is a SAG-AFTRA actor professionally trained in film and theater, and she brings her years of experience to the table making magic for authors. I'm thrilled to announce that I have the rights back to put FLASHPOINT into audiobook! The book is currently at ACX awaiting auditions, and I'm so happy that it will finally have its chance to be heard alongside THE SERPENT IN THE STONE.

The narrator will need to be on their toes, because FLASHPOINT follows an American woman in the Australian outback, and her trail guide is, of course, Australian. I look forward to hearing the auditions for this one, because this book is close to my heart.

My autumn appearances are underway, with Beaver Lake Nature Center's 45th Annual Golden Harvest Festival just past (Photos of my purchases to come!) and the CNY Pagan Pride's Autumn Equinox Festival coming up this weekend on September 16th!

Autumn is a beautiful time here in Central New York, and the cooling temperatures are perfect for enjoying a day out. If you're looking for things to do, you can't go wrong attending one of these festivals.

The fun continues into October, too! I'm giving a workshop to a Baldwinsville, NY Girl Scout Troop, and then attending the 7th Annual Authors' Meet & Greet at Baldwinsville Public Library with fifteen other authors writing in a wide variety of genres. Books make terrific holiday gifts, and with so many authors in attendance, you're sure to find a personalized, signed gift for that hard-to-shop-for bibliophile in your life.

Work in Progress

In the meantime, I'm nearing the end of my forthcoming Christmas novella, and I can't wait to share it with you. It'll be released in print as an anthology with THE PEPPERMINT BARK PROPOSAL, so you can cozy up this holiday season with two sweet romances to warm your heart.

Fans of FREAK FRAT will be happy to know that my next project will be returning to Book Two in that series! The sequel needs some work, but it's getting there. I watched Pitt and Poole for a second, wondering why the SBS hadn't stuck me in a class with other new vampires. Was this some kind of sorting process? Maybe I'd meet them when I got better at this. Maybe there weren't many vampires in Luke's Valley. That must be why Poole was sent back to the baby class. I felt a little better.

Seth was still talking. "Orientation is every Sunday evening. You'll keep coming here to this room until you're ready to progress. These supernaturals will become like your new brothers and sisters in the weeks and months ahead."

Oh, God. It's like Delta Kappa Wacko. A sinking sensation started back up, somewhere in my middle, and spread outward. Like college isn't bad enough.

Back to Normal

Our son starts his freshman year of high school tomorrow, and if you’ve followed our trials, you know this is a big milestone in his health progress. I am so proud of his progress and his drive to chase the things he loves, like math and science as well as his ever-present love of snowboarding.

For me, the return to normal means going back to the day job regularly. I hope that also means a return to my routine of morning writing sprints. I often get more done in a half hour of writing than in hours of allotted time. This means (I hope) more books, sooner, for you!
